Wellbotics is an excellent program. Dr. Pam Davis has led Wellbotics with several of our programs at The Riverside Church in New York City. Dr. Davis has worked with our children, youth and Freedom School scholars. Her programming is innovative and very engaging. I highly recommend her.

Wellbotics serves to provide many students with the outlet that will address their social-emotional health in a manner that authentically puts the student in the forefront of their learning. Dr. Davis has been able to use her intricate knowledge and expertise in technology to transform thinking and to provide learning experiences that are truly authentic and students centered.

My children participated in the Wellbotics program in the spring of 2018 at Riverside Church. It was a wonderful program and I hope we have the chance to participate again. Dr. Pam maintained a space where children could interact with the Legos, robotic components, and each other in an environment of order and structure which allowed their focus and creativity to thrive with a knowledgeable mentor guiding the course. Dr. Pam wove real life examples of robotics used in everyday life as well as exposing participants to the frontier of new developments. Dr. Pam also created a space in which children can wrestle with objects and problem solving skills gaining a skill that is able to translate into other aspects of their lives. As a mom, I appreciate tactile learning experiences. I want my children to learn problem solving skills. I want them to learn empathy and stretch their muscles of endurance and fortitude. Wellbotics and Dr. Pam checked all those boxes for our family!
School Social Worker
This is extremely helpful and would be beneficial in a play therapy session, and even in therapeutic social skill groups. There are a lot of kids in elementary schools with mental diagnosis such as ODD, DNDD, intermittent explosive disorder etc. That could use Wellbotics to not only understand their diagnosis and emotions but also learn a skill in coding.
Social workers, psychologists and anyone in the mental health profession should learn this first and then use this as a tool in therapy.
High School Mentor
I think the program could be beneficial to kids after school. While it teaches the STEM related things, it also teaches health and wellness and how to deal with emotions.

I loved the connection between robot programming and human programming. I was challenged by the verbal instruction to create X which I liked because it illustrated how coding can’t work without good communication.

Our Students

Our Students
“There’s more tea to spill, so let’s definitely do this again!”
Our Partners
It gave kids a different way to express feelings. Often STEM/STEAM is not included in clinical interventions, so I really enjoyed seeing the kids explore challenging topics in an interactive way
I liked Wellbotics because it was something new. I have never seen a volunteer opportunity where robots were involved.
Great way to introduce kids to how robots “think”. Small robots are round and cute and are irresistible to kids!
Our Partners
The kids understood what they were doing and actually had fun doing it
I really like the way Wellbotics helped the children loosen up with both the other children and with the people in the sessions in general. The children from Gilda’s had a great time where they could really just be children and learn some great new things.
They enjoyed it
The kids had a great time!
Activities for the kids

Definitely would like to see more of Wellbotics if possible! :]
